Be Born Again in the Spirit

'But what saith it? The Word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.""

2009 Thanksgiving

It is difficult to lay down on paper something to suit the occasion and in this instance of course, I am talking about Thanksgiving and thanksgiving.

When a person takes the time to step back and look at what is coming at us all, from how many different angles, we begin to wonder  how we will ever get the damn swamp drained when we spend the whole day fighting alligators.

Yet, somehow we find the strength and resilience to do it...not perfectly, not right away and quite often without our hearts being truly in it.  As Americans we are loathe to think the worse of our fellow citizens, some of which would propagate the myths of climate change and others would tout the benefits of Obama's health care bill which is neither about health nor care.  And we must keep it up.

We have one sure witness in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  The battle we are engaged in is one that seeks to retain our Republic, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and yes, all of these are inalienable rights,  given not by the hand of man, but wrought by God Himself.  Man cannot take these away and for that we are thankful.

As we approach this certain to be 'winter of our discontent', we need to vow to one another and to our maker to grasp certain truths about the governance of our nation.  Right now, all this must have, rush legislation and all the big money spending bills that have gone before are designed to break the back of America as we knew her.  They are doing a really good job at tearing down the United States.

These truths will become pronounced and pushed in the days and weeks ahead and politicians will ignore us to their chagrin...like the good book says, "there will be a wailing and gnashing of teeth."

Enjoy Thanksgiving people, those of you with kin home that are on active duty somewhere or kids home from school, enjoy the time with them.

The good Lord tells us that in this world we will see trouble, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."  John 16:33.

Bottom line people, keep on keeping on knowing full well who is in control.  It is impossible to please God without faith and yet, faith requires action and right after this holiday, Washington will be back at it's evil and we will have to get back at going after it.

"And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?"  Matthew 20:6.
