I am sure that we have all heard of the degree of corruption that prevailed in Haiti since long before the past 10 years during which time we provided nearly 2 billion dollars....and yet, we have an emergency and official Haiti disappears. Let us not downplay the official role as Ambassador to Haiti, that Bill Clinton played or did not play during that period. The fox have been in the hen house and Clinton was probably under a desk somewhere because he sounded absolutely zero alarms about the corruption that underpins the safety and security of the good Haitian people.
Now the corrupt officials are back....the baptist missionaries who were striving to move 33 children out of harm's way into bordering Honduras and safe haven....these people were operating under very real convictions that these children were orphans and simply were in error about all the documentation they would need to transport these kids.....
After much consideration, corruption speaks and says "KIDNAPPERS!" Where is Preval during all of this... probably under the other desk but certainly not intervening in this travesty, this miscarriage of justice in which no good deed goes unpunished.
Here is the kicker....moving these 33 kids out of harm's way was tantamount in the thinking of our American baptist friends but even they did not know that by doing so they were sincerely pissing off Preval who considers himself the best broker to 'auction' off the orphans of his country to bidders of his choice.....
To people like Preval, the little people are but chatel....spend it or dispose of it as you will. Did anyone hear the hue and cry from the mainstream media over this? Neither did I.
I sincerely pray that God, my God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, would intervene on behalf of these baptists who were seeking to protect the least of these among us...our children. I would also bind the forces of evil from enabling the likes of the corrupt government officials in Haiti and America from having their brand of evil foisted on our fellow Americans and that they be set free. This I would do of course, in Jesus' name. Amen.
